SQL Express Install for Blue Cherry

This is a guide on how to install SQL Express for Blue Cherry.

1) Firstly you will need to start by running the the correct version of SQL Express the correct version of this is the 2019 version.

To find this you will go onto the USB drive>SQL install>SQL Express. As you can see with the picture below.

You will need to run this as an administrator so to do this you will right click on 2019 SQL Express and then click run as administrator.

2) Once you have done this you will be greeted with a menu with different install options we want to use the first option as seen in the picture below.

3) After this you will want to accept the terms and then click next. As seen below.

4) You will need to tick the option that says "Use Microsoft Update to check for updates" and then press next and then next again with the page that shows the results of the rules.

5) On the install rules page you will just want to click next. As seen below.

6) You will then be on a page called feature selection and you want to unselect all the options and then only select the one called "Database Engine Services" and then press next. As seen below.

7) You will then be on a page called Instance Configuration where in the named instance section you will need to put the following "GERRESPSQLSERVER" and then click next as seen below.

8) In the server configuration section that it will take you to next you don't need to do anything in there put just press next to go onto the next section.

9) Now you should be on the Database Engine Configuration where you will need to put the authentication mode onto mixed mode then this will allow you to put a password in and this password is "Blue123Cherry" with a capital B and C. as seen below. and then press next.

10) Then you should be done if everything has been done correctly as seen below.

11) You will now need to see if the service is running. To do this you need to click the windows button in the bottom left of your screen then type services and click into the services app.

12Once in the services menu you need to find the service called SQL Server (GERRESPSQLSERVER) and the status should say Running.

Now to connect Blue cherry to the Database when on the page of the SQL server in the SQL-server part you will need to put in localhost\GERRESPSQLSERVER

Then in the user part you need to put in sa and then in the password you need to put in Blue123Cherry. As seen in the picture below.

You then click finish and if you have put the details in correctly then you it will automatically create the database for you and add it to the SQL Server we made.
