When performing a DLCo gas transfer test, sometimes when a patient comes to breathe in the gas, it seems that the gas isn't pulling through.
There are a few reasons this could be so please follow the steps below to find the appropriate solution.
1: Make sure manoeuvre is being performed correctly.
Blue Cherry needs see that the required amount of tidal breaths is being performed and matches the required amount of tidal breaths in the settings. To see this number you go to the following.
Setup>Advanced>Measuring>CO Diffusion
Then ensure that the top option (breaths before manoeuvre) is the same amount of breaths that is being performed.
Whilst in this page, make sure the Shutter box is ticked to ensure the shutter will close automatically.
2. Make sure the gas pressure is correct and the gas is turned on.
Firstly make sure the main valve on the gas bottle is switched on. Then on the gas regulator, use the white pressure reducer to adjust the pressure so that the gauge marked below on the picture is sat at around 6 bar.
Step 3: Check electrical connections on head unit
If the problem persists after step 2, make sure all the connections that run into the white head unit inside the body box are secure and firmly in place.
If the problem is sill occurring please contact the service team on 0161 976 2744 or email support@lovemedical.com.
